A New KICKSTARTER project... It's a town, a region, and a sandbox without rails.

The best of a hexcrawl combined with story-filled campaign setting, the Emberland sandbox is designed to provide GMs with an open world that will grow and respond to player choices, and also be a setting where specific storylines (if the PCs are inclined to follow the hooks) can lead to detailed adventures. Built around a hex-crawl "points-of-interest" format, the Emberland zines will build out a world full of random encounter tables (changing with each zine to reflect the different terrains and level advancement of the characters) add specific adventures (including a Mega-Dungeon: The Work Pit Dungeon), and introduce a growing number of NPCs and factions that will be at odds with the PCs.

You'll get the GUIDE and SIX zines.

The starting point is the Emberland Setting Guide, which will establish the town and region of Emberland, provide NPCs, factions, and adventure rumors and hooks for the GM to start with. After the Setting Guide, you can expect each of the remaining six zines to be released about once a month for six months.

Each new zine will fill out details of one 24-mile hex of the larger map. Each new hex will provide new points-of-interest, creatures and NPCs which the GM can use to expand the world the PCs are exploring. When fulfilled, the GM will have  seven hexes worth of terrain covering thousands of square miles for the adventuring party to explore, 3 full adventures (The Work Pit Dungeon, The Cursed Bridge, and The Crimson Mansion), and multiple rumor and story hooks to utilize.

Digital Delivery and DriveThruRPG

The Setting Guide will be released as a digital only product (at this point) via DriveThruRPG.
